Lead up to Trip

Hello!
Big changes are happening with us!  We have sold our house-actually it is currently in a lease to own until Feb. 1, 2010 when the person will take ownership, hopefully.  We have sold most of our big items (i.e. furniture) and all our other items are either being stored in a small room in our basement or at the MIL’s house (wedding dress & baptism gowns, etc) because we are leaving Monday morning for Las Vegas!!!  Why Vegas?  That’s where the RV dealer is located where we will be picking up our new home/ride.  We are purchasing an RV and will be living in there for the next year or so…http://www.fleetwoodrv.com/icon/
We plan to do a lot of traveling and touring of the country (so you never know when there is a knock on your door it may be us!)
Yes, I have officially cut ties with my employer as they changed my position while I was out on maternity leave (i.e. eliminated my reduced hours and took away my managerial role) and am applying for other positions while collecting unemployment for the next six months!  The most exciting position I was looking into was in Australia, but that position has been put on hold for 12 months due to restructuring (I know all about small companies “restructuring”. so perhaps it was a good thing), but told the recruiter to keep me posted as to when they reopen the position.  I am also applying for a consulting position for The Limited Inc., working on a software system that I actually was the lead person in getting it up and running when I worked for Bath & Body Works-so I am curious how this might pan out; it is a three – six month position.

Jonathan is continuing to sell insurance and also has a new job selling commercial grade compost systems to places like universities/colleges, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.  He currently is pursuing a very large contract with over 7,000 locations!  He might be able to retire just after getting started!  If you have any contacts in need of commercial grade composting systems, send the info our way (via email as we don’t currently have a mailing address-however we do have a post box in CO and will have our mail forwarded there, possibly).

Our children are doing well.  the last blood draw reveled that Nadine’s lead level has dropped down to a 4.1!  We want the level to be <2.0, but are quite happy with the progress thus far.  We are no longer doing chelation with her-after doing some research we probably wouldn’t have done it in the first place.  We were doing the chelation because of the high mercury levels found in her urine, which we were told after doing the chelation for three months and then following up with another urine and fecal test that the lead sometimes presents itself as mercury in the urine test!!!  What??  Thanks for sharing that in the beginning DR.!!!  Anyhow, we are doing fresh juicing and using this method to further reduce the levels of metals in her body (along with milk thistle).
Samson is continuing to grow-he’s probably close to 17lbs and will be four months on June 1st!  I think he has started teething already; lots of drool and a red bottom.  I just ordered and received an amber teething necklace for him, which I left in the sun a bit and he is now wearing.  I am curious to see if it will have an affect on him.  http://hyenacart.com/inspiredbyfinn/ Let me know if you’d like to order one and I can give you the discount code that came with the delivery.  I have never heard of these until my Chiro friend mentioned it to me.  I figure for $10 it’s worth a shot!

Where are we planning to travel?  We are first off going to CA to visit Roger and Erika (expecting and due in October) and then some friends who live in Idyllwild (http://www.idyllwild.com/) for a couple of days and then will drive over to CO.  In CO, we are going to be house sitting for a family in a co-housing community called Heartwood (http://www.heartwoodcohousing.com/) for the month of June.  After filling out a survey about our lifestyle and our desires for a co-housing community, this is one of the top picks that came up.  We joined their Yahoo! Group and after being members for just a short time there came a post about a house sitter needed and we responded.  This will allow us a good amount of time to decide if this is a community/lifestyle for us for further down the line (POST RV Living).  We plan to be back in OH mid-July and doing some work with the local farmers markets (selling goods & insurance) and with the local businesses (selling the composters).  My hope it to not live in snow this winter, but we’ll see… Must finish packing up the house and make the 6:20am flight to Vegas before worrying further about next week!  :)

It is my goal to start a blog and to keep it going so others can follow along and can offer us suggestions.  Once I know that site, I will be sure to share it (I am sure that my DH already know the web address and I just haven’t asked).

Blessings,
Jonathan, Heather, Nadine & Samson
